The newest Buzzword
Google recently created their own take on social networks, called Buzz, aiming to become a sort of fusion of Facebook and Twitter. Allowing quite large updates, including links to various websites, as well as allowing you to choose whether to make it visible to everyone, or just your friends.
It is slowly being rolled out to all GMail users, when you get it, when you next log in, you’ll be presented with a brief explanation, and buttons for going straight to Buzz or back to your email.
I know what most of you are thinking, oh no, another thing to update, and I agree.
There has been a lot of concern over the privacy of users in the last few months, and Google has done nothing to help. Buzz is entirely opt-out, automatically giving people access to your private information. Surely they would have seen the fuss over Facebook, and tried to avoid this sort of mess?
To be honest, I don’t have time for another social network, and especially with the privacy concerns, will not be using it just yet.
